| Pat Palmer grew up in Calgary, Canada, and has since 1969 lived in Australia (Sydney), Canada (Calgary, Edmonton, Port Alberni, Mississauga, and Oakville), Singapore, the USA (Weston, CT), and the UK (London, and Wargrave, Berkshire). In late 2011, she returned to Canada and now resides in Nanoose Bay, British Columbia.
Taking the opportunities presented by various art centres and colleges along the route of her travels, Pat has participated in various fine art classes inluding degree courses at the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto, Canada, and the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore.
In the early 1980's she worked as a volunteer administrator at the Rollin Art Centre in Port Alberni, Canada.
Her work has been shown in numerous group exhibitions. Notable amongst these were the 1990 Mississauga Juried Show (Mississauga City Hall, Canada), the 1999 Art of the Northwest Exhibition (Silvermine Arts Centre, New Canaan, CT), and the Spectrum 200 Juried Exhibition (Carriage Barn Arts Centre, New Canaan, CT). Her work has been recognized with several awards including First Place in Oil and Acrylics (All-Media Nude Exhibition, 2001, Rowayton Art Centre, CT).
She currently shows at the Art 10 Gallery in Nanaimo, The Nanaimo Arts Council, and with the DeCosmos Fine Arts Society in Parksville. |
